I only had the GPS with me, and not a map so I kept going up the roads that were closed and did not go through due to snowfall. I was not panicked because it was early in the day said I had a full tank of gas. It would have been an entirely different story in the late afternoon with no gas! [At this point I would like to point out that this is totally my fault. I missed the briefing talking about today’s roads and routes and I forgot to bring my GPS to breakfast!]

In the end it turned out to be a great adventure and I got to see lots of cool stuff, riding it at my own pace. It’s always good to have a backup plan in cases like that.

Alisa on the Road: getting lost in the Gran Sasso. I only had the GPS with me, and not a map so I kept going up the roads that were closed and did not go through due to snowfall. [At this point I would like to point out that this is totally my fault. I missed the briefing talking about today's roads and routes and I forgot to bring my GPS to breakfast, so I told Rob Beach, our tour guide, that I would navigate myself. Ha!]In the end it turned out to be a great adventure and I got to see lots of cool stuff, riding it at my own pace.
