We’ve had a great month of collecting information on interesting women travelers for the newsletter, adding more women to our online community (If you are new to our mailing list – welcome!) and developing one new tour and adding a second set of dates for another. One of my very favorite places to ride in the USA is the Southwest, so we’ve added a new tour that starts & ends in Las Vegas and visits some of my all-time favorite riding places: the Grand Canyon, the Canyonlands of Utah, Zion National Park, Bryce National Park, Monument Valley and more.
Ladies, you can can fly in and rent bikes or ride your own on the tour. This will be a self-supported tour, meaning we won’t have a chase vehicle. That cuts down on the costs significantly and makes the tour more affordable for more women. I’m still working on the exact itinerary and pricing, and will announce it here in the newsletter when that’s published. We’ve already put some details on the web page HERE.
Our July Colorado Backcountry Discovery Route has already filled up, so we’ve now added September dates this year for a second COBDR (Sept. 3-10, 2017).

Behnaz Shafiei: Iran’s trailblazing female biker makes history with women’s race
In a country where women are still banned from riding motorcycles and are not able to get licenses, it is an outstanding achievement in itself that Behnaz Shafiei has fought her way to be one of Iran’s only female moto cross riders. After a three-year campaign for women’s rights in Iran, Behnaz Shafiei’s all female bike race is on. Fifteen women will join the ride and no men are allowed.

The PowerLily Gas Tank Mentorship Program Supporting Women in Powersports Application Deadline is February 28.
If you are unfamiliar with the PowerLily “Gas Tank” program, it is similar to “Shark Tank,” where aspiring entrepreneur-contestants make business presentations to a panel of “shark” mentors. This program is specific to thepowersports industry and available only to PowerLily members. It provides mentoring assistance for PowerLily members to submit business plans for the competition. The selected five finalists will then have an opportunity to present their business plans live to a panel of judges at AIMExpo in September in Columbus, OH. Last year’s winner was MotoChic Gear.
MattLaw (aka The Law Tigers) is seeking a “team player” to assist in its field marketing operations. The candidate will assist in marketing initiatives at numerous motorcycle events and motorcycle shops throughout Tampa and St. Petersburg (Florida). More info HERE.
