Today I’m at Pat Jacques’s 2017 ADVWoman Rally in Granby, CO. Pat has been one of the most inspirational women in my life, and I’m thrilled to be on her team. Pat organizes the ADVWoman rally annually to provide off road motorcycle training designed specifically By Women and For Women. Meeting her students each “where they are,” Pat individualizes her training to ensure her students are both skilled and confident. A year ago, I was nearing the completion of the cross-country Sister’s Centennial Motorcycle Ride. Adeline and Augusta Van Buren are two women from the past who so inspired me, I organized the charity ride to commemorate their contribution to women in motorcycling. The sisters were the first women to ride cross country in their quest to prove that women could serve as military dispatch riders— we didn’t even have the right to vote yet!
